Want to add movement, drama, and a totally unique touch to your dress? A piping latkan design is your answer. I recently tried this on an Anarkali, and the effect was magical! Instead of a static neckline, you get these beautiful, free-flowing ties that dance as you move.
How it works: You create a basic keyhole or round neckline. Then, you attach piping (a fabric-covered cord) that extends from the neck’s edge into long, elegant ties or tassels (the latkans). You can have two ties for a bow-like effect or four for a more dramatic look.
Why it’s awesome:
It’s flattering: The vertical lines of the ties elongate the torso.
Customizable: You can make them as long or short as you like.
Adds a Pop of Color: Use a contrasting piping color to make the design really stand out.
It’s a fantastic way to elevate a simple dress pattern into something truly special and designer-inspired.
